Under the new option, according to the government's announcement, applicants can become residents of Kazakhstan if they invest at least 300,000 USD in local companies or publicly traded securities.

The residency permit for Kazakhstan under this scheme is valid for ten years. The government's goal is clear: to strengthen the environment for foreign investors and attract capital and expertise. They also streamlined the residency process through an e-filing application.

The new visa regulation will come into force on May 10, 2025.

Kazakhstan already has different residency by investment options. To qualify as an investor in exchange for the residency permit, applicants must invest between 300,000 USD and USD 500,000, depending on the selected options:

• Real estate in designated urban zones
• Equity stakes in Kazakh businesses or joint ventures
